For those of you who have not heard: two awesome practitioners have moved to Main Street in Great Barrington!
Across the street (292 Main Street) is Percival Pilates, where Sarah Beth Percival provides both classes and private Pilates sessions focusing on alignment, balance and strength. In future blog posts, I will go into detail about the way Pilates and acupuncture work together to create strength and balance in the body.
Right next door (291 Main Street) is Awaken Healing Arts, which just moved to Great Barrington from Sheffield, MA. Audrey Herrick provides Reflexology, Reiki, Energy Clearing, Ionic Detox Foot Baths, and more. Come see Audrey to keep your body and energy clear and strong.
Yesterday I did a talk for nurses and physical therapists at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital. I spoke about the benefits of acupuncture for pain management, some of the known mechanisms by which acupuncture works, how acupuncture fits into the western medical setting, and the opportunities and challenges associated with this integration. The audience was wonderful (especially because my parents were there) and I was reminded how exciting it is to connect with other professionals who are passionate about patient-centered care. The residents of New London and the surrounding area are very fortunate to have such a wonderful team caring for them, especially in light of the financial difficulties CT hospitals have been facing.
